About Us

In this frenzied world filled with message clutter, NEW MEDIA BREW’s storytelling is an antidote to the chaos. We tell stories of individuals, organizations, and businesses by using a fine mix of traditional media and New Media. While we embrace digital forms of communication, we haven’t thrown the baby out with the bath water. A rich, sound storyline is the basis for everything we create–from a photo shoot to a fully produced video production. We view computers as tools, much as artists view brushes. We know that the elements of a good story are the same today as they were when native Americans passed on their traditions by telling stories.

We are eager to listen to you to determine how our compelling style of storytelling can help you best convey your message. Depending upon your needs, we offer our photography, video production, writing, and music production services as a complete–or a la carte–package.

Compelling storytelling is our antidote to chaos.

John Gevers, director of photography and writer.

John began writing stories and making Kodachrome images as a boy and honed his skills while studying at the Ernie Pyle School of Journalism at Indiana University in the 80s. In 1987, while serving as an Ambassador of Goodwill to New Zealand for Rotary International, he formed a lifelong passion for making images that transcend the ordinary and for collecting stories of the people he encounters.

John has left the halcyon, pre-computer days of Kodachrome behind and now shoots digitally exclusively. His early image-making values remain: he believes that art happens at the point of capture.

Through his storytelling skills, he synthesizes complex details, distilling them into easily understood concepts and images. He is known for capturing compelling images, video, and audio and producing them into stories that communicate with surprising clarity and effectiveness.

Gregory Fryzel, creative director and composer.

Gregory began embracing the creative side of living life at age 15 when he heard his first Bach fugue on an LP lent to him by a nun. He was born with the gift of music and composes and performs musical soundtracks for our productions. Gregory’s unique life experiences include living as a Franciscan friar, which taught him the elements of humility and simplicity in all things beautiful. He earned a Master’s degree in French from Middlebury College, Vermont, and became addicted to beauty while living in Paris. He brings his affinity for the aesthetic to digital media production and to the stories we create.
